Using Three Digit Phone Numbers

If you are looking to utilize a non-emergent phone number such as 411 in the bvoip phone system, this would need to be setup as an outbound rule that will use a desired custom code to forward to a designated local equivalent number.

Why Not Use the Code in the Outbound Rule?

Aside from 911, SIP Providers have different variances on the three digit non-emergency based service numbers that they support, causing several setup issues. In addition, this method allows for users to set the custom dial out code to their desired preference without causing conflict with their extension numbers.

Need to Use 911?

If you are looking to setup 911, please refer to our emergency number articles listed below.
