Porting Timeframes

Porting times vary based on the type of phone number being transferred. Below are the expected timeframes:

  • Inbound (13/1300/1800) = 1 to 7 business days
  • Virtual Mobile = 1 to 2 business days
  • Local (DIDs) - simple (CAT A) = 5 to 14 business days
  • Local (DIDs) - complex (CAT C) = 4 to 6 weeks

Local DID Category A vs C

Local numbers are classified as “Complex” or Category C ports when any one of the following statements is true:

  • ISDN, Hunt, ADSL, or Faxing are in use on the number
  • The number is part of a block of numbers, a “range”
  • You're porting from Telstra DOT
