What is an Extension Group?
An extension group allows for permissions to be applied to multiple extensions and also allow accesses for those who need access over specific extension as well as phonebook setup.
Can Users Be in Multiple Extension Groups?
Yes! Depending on your organization's needs, having multiple extensions in multiple groups is a common practice.
Example of an Extension Using Two Extension Groups
Extension user being a regular user but needs to have access to recording for other recordings from extension users that are in a call queue to QA on those other users.
How this would be setup is to have a Main General Extension Group with the desired extension user being set as having User level permissions. Then you would have a second extension group built out for the call queue(s) and then the user would be set at Manager permission level.
Changing Extension Group Permissions
Regardless if your users are using one or several extension groups, nothing special is needed to activate/pause these permissions. If you need to edit the permissions, you would go into the extension group and change the permission or move the user to an appropriate level.
