Device Certificate Check

If there is uncertainty about if the intended Yealink device will support the zero touch provisioning features, please see the instructions below on how to check the device certificate on the device.

  1. Click the OK button on the device.
  2. Press down to select more.
  3. Select the Phone option.
  4. Scroll down to the Device Cert option.

Determining Feature Support

How to Tell if the Device is Supported:

  • If the device is supported, there will be a message that says Device Certificate: Factory Installed.
  • If the device is not supported, there will be a message that says Device Certificate: Not Installed or Device Certificate: Invalid. In some instances, there is no device certificate message at all.

Failed Certificate Troubleshooting

If the device failed and there is a need to investigate why, please see below for common troubleshooting options.

  • Check the device's time and date. If they are incorrect, this can cause the SSL to fail.
  • Check the export log. This will show why the device failed to connect to the URL after it reboots from provisioning.
  • Check the Yealink Device Certificate. While bvoip provisions devices with the default certificate in the pre-staging process, there can be variations.
