Using Microsoft 365?

See our article New User with Microsoft 365 instead for a more detailed walkthrough on the Microsoft specific tasks.

Creating New Users

Follow the guides below to first create the extension in the phone system, then create the user in the Control portal, and finally bind them together.

  1. Creating Phone Extensions
  2. Creating New Users in Control
  3. Setting User Bindings

The binding will make it where the extension user and 1stream user will sync up with the Control level user, causing one login to be used when logging into the softphone, 1stream chrome extension, and management portals if they have that level of access.

Check Extension Configuration and Licensing

Ensure that the extension is created the way you want it to be with all necessary features.

Granting Management Access

You can either grant full "Admin" permissions to all phone systems you control, or more granular limited Roles & Rights to specific phone systems, depending on your needs.

See our "User Role Guide" for more detail on the differences, and you can follow the guides below to configure these for a user.

Disable Access

While you can set a user's Is Active flag in the User Access tab to No to disable them, that does not immediately terminate their sessions to the web client and does not disconnect their physical devices. That is best used for extended absences.

To ensure the user's access is terminated immediately, please follow the guide below to remove the Control user and extension if applicable.
